Sankashti Chaturthi dates
In each lunar month there are two tuti tits in the Hindu calendar. The one after Purnimation or the full moon during Krishna Paksha is known as Sankasti Chaturthi, and the one after Amavasya or new moon during Shukla Paksha is known as Vinayaka Chaturthi.
Although the fast of Sankashi Chaturti takes place every month, the most important Sankashi Chaturti falls in Magha month after Purnimant school and in Paush month after Amavasyant school.
When Sankashti Chaturthi falls on Tuesday, it is called Angarki Chaturthi and is considered very auspicious. Sankasti Chaturti's offices were mostly in West and South India, particularly in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

Devotees of Lord Ganesha are guarded by Sankashi Chaturti from sunrise to sunrise on the moon. Sankashti means liberation in difficult times. Lord Ganesha, the supreme ruler of intelligence, symbolizes the removal of all obstacles. Therefore, it is believed that by observing this fast, one can remove all obstacles.
Fasting should be strict and only fruit, roots (the part of the plant located underground) and herbal products should be consumed. Sankashti Chaturthi's main Indian diet includes sabudana khichadi, potatoes and peanuts. Pilgrims break their fast in the evening after seeing the moon.
In northern India, Sankashti Chaturthi is known as Sakat Chauth during the month of Magha. Vinayaka Chaturti during the month of Bhadrapada is also known as Ganesha Chaturti. Ganesha Chaturti is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha by Hindus all over the world.
Sankashti Chaturthi is also known as Ganesh Sankatahara or Sankatahara Chaturthi among Tamil Hindus.
Tobogganing day regarding Chaturti . location
It is important to understand that the fast day of Sankasti Chaturti may be different for the two cities, even if the cities are in an Indian state. Fasting for Sankasti Chaturti depends on the rising moon and is observed on the day that the moon rises while Chaturthi Tithi applies. Therefore, the office of Sankasti Chaturti is observed on Tritia Tithi, i.e. one day before Chaturthi Tithi. Since moonrise time is different for all cities, it is important to include a Hindu calendar like this website which lists the days of Sankhati Chaturti by location. Since it takes a long time to generate location-based data, most sources ignore this fact and publish one list for all cities in India.
